Seeking Darkness or Light (Deut. 18)

We are living in a time of great deception. Each day we have a choice to fill our heart with Light or take in the forces of darkness which desire to turn us away from God and destroy us.

Surprisingly Satan still uses the same practices today which he used 3,000 years ago. And these same practices are still deceiving people today, making them think that their power or knowledge is coming from God. But it's not!

Deuteronomy 18 makes it clear these are doctrines and tools of demons used to turn us away from God and destroy us.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you one who uses divination, practices witchcraft, interprets omens, a sorcerer, one who casts a spell, a medium, a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord.

In fact Deuteronomy 18:12 tells us God was so concerned about these evil influences turning His people away from Him and destroying them that He drove away anyone who practiced these things.

Dear Lord, Thank you for reminding me that Satan is alive and well and very active in our world today trying to deceive anyone with an ear to hear him. Lord, just as you did for the Israelites in Moses time, please protect me from yoking myself with anyone who practices these things. Please reveal the darkness to me and put it on my heart to run away from those influences, run towards You, and cling to the Light of Your Word.
