Is truth relative? (Psalm 19)

Is truth relative or absolute? Is there such a thing as right and wrong or is everything relative based on individual viewpoints? It's amazing how our thoughts and behavior are affected by our answers to these questions, isn't it?

Some say that truth is relative. But that's not what God says or what He reveals to us in His Word or in the world around us.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament, we are reminded that everywhere we look we can see the proof of God's craftmanship. The heavens give convincing evidence of God's existence and His creative work, His power, His love and His care. In fact, to say the universe happened by chance is absurd.

When the evidence before us is investigated and studied, the only logical reason someone would claim not to see the work of God in creation would be a lack of desire to admit God is exactly who He says He is in His Word. Because when we do admit that, we also have to admit there are tremendous consequences when we choose to turn away from God.

But there are also tremendous blessings in turning to God and submitting our life to Him. When we do the latter, we experience His presence and His joy which is better than anything this world has to offer.

The evidence before us in the heavens, on the earth, in the explicit differences and uniqueness in created life each within and according to their own kinds is scientifically irrefutable.

No evidence exists that there has ever been evolution resulting in a change of kinds, just like the Bible says in Genesis 1; each living thing was created "after their kind."

In fact, when you study Genesis 1, you see that God created the world and everything in it (trees, vegetation, animals, and man) with the appearance of age on day 1.

Adam and Eve didn't appear in the garden as newborn babies, but adults, on day 1 of their existence. Trees were producing fruit and plants were producing vegetation on day 1 of their existence.

So everything was created on day 1 with the appearance of age. That means the theory that the earth is billions of years old actually does not refute the dating from the Bible that the earth is approximately 6,000 years old. God created the world and everything in it with the appearance of age, on day 1.

So then when we take the blinders off and actually consider the creation before us and everything in it, the perfect order, the seasons, the amazing differences in every created thing, the perfect levels of oxygen and controlled climate to allow living things to survive, the intricate and perfect design of our human bodies to allow us to see, hear, taste, touch, smell, think, and love, it's obvious that "the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands."

The only question is whether we choose to accept the amazing irrefutable evidence of God all around us and submit to Him now or choose to wait and submit to Him later.

Revelation 5:13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

A day is coming, and possibly very soon, where there will be no question that truth is absolute and right and wrong are defined by God rather than relative based on our individual viewpoints.

We have been blessed with a loving God who created us to be in relationship with Him, to know Him, to worship Him, to depend on Him. He does not want any one to be lured away by the deceiver who only comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

The deceiver, Satan, wants to destroy our life now and any hope of eternal life by getting us to doubt the existence of God and the truth behind His creation. Please don't accept that lie. Please don't let Satan win!
