Crossing the Jordan (Josh 1:9)

Do you ever feel like you are at the edge of the Jordan, uncertain what will happen when you cross the river to the other side?

You know it won’t be easy and that there will be battles you will have to fight along the way. Yet God is telling you to cross the Jordan and trust Him as He leads you up the bank on the other side.

Not only is He telling you to cross, He’s telling you to do it with such trust in Him that you are at complete peace and filled with courage because you know He is crossing ahead of you and protecting you, as you climb the bank on the other side.

Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Dear Lord, That river looks scary and I just don’t know what’s beyond the bank on the other side. But you do, Lord. You know exactly what lies ahead. You have placed each of us on a specific path that at some point requires us to cross the Jordan. Lord, give me courage to cross when and where you tell me to cross and to climb the bank on the other side with confidence that You know what lies ahead and that You are walking beside me, guiding me through whatever battles are yet to come. Not by my strength, but through yours, Lord. For when I am weak and I hold on to You, then I am strong.
